Admission

Admission

Unlike other mainstream schools, admission at Wangsel Institute for the Deaf requires certain criteria. One of the Primary requirements is the recent Audiogram (not older than 1 year) by the certified audiologist with recommendation letter/statement, if any. The other alternative can be the Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) test by the certified audiologist or the technician. In both the cases, to be eligible for admission, the result must be a severe to profound level of hearing loss (HL) despite any type of HL. The HL may be congenital (by birth) or acquired (at later age). The child should be above 5 years and below 18 years of age during the time of admission. However, the admission is approved with some exception cases decided by the team.  Students who have transitioned from other schools with above required documents may be accepted case by case basis guided by the institute policy.
