Today, on this significant occasion marking the opening of International Deaf Week, we are honored to launch the very first edition of our educational periodical, Sherig for Everyone, Volume One.
Themed “Breaking Barriers, Building Dreams”, this publication has been carefully coordinated by Mr. Kinzang Tshering, whose vision and effort made it possible to bring together diverse voices and experiences from across Bhutan.
This inaugural volume is both a platform and a resource book, created to share valuable insights, experiences, and best practices in inclusive education, with a special focus on supporting students with disabilities. It contains around 25 thoughtful articles written by experienced teachers nationwide, reflecting the collective wisdom and commitment of our educators.
This is only the beginning. We plan to publish Volume Two next year, followed by subsequent editions, ensuring that this platform grows into a continuous dialogue for inclusivity. We encourage every inclusive teacher to contribute at least one article to our future volumes so that this becomes a collective movement, shaped by the voices of those working at the heart of education.
