Teaching and Learning
The class ranges from Preparatory, 1-year-class before Pre-Primary (PP), to XII in academic field. The class size depends upon the number of students enrolled ranging from 2 to 10 students in a class having two sections in some cases. They learn an equivalent curriculum as that of mainstream schools except English and Dzongkha which are little lowered due to the language nature of the subject, with adaptation and modification. Apart from these subjects, students also learn BhSL as a subject since they have limited sign language, their first language(L1) or mother tongue, developed during their crucial stage (birth to 6 years). After the completion of class 10, students have the option to choose academic or vocational tracks. However, to opt for academic track, students have to score a certain percentage which is guided by the institute policy. For the vocational tracks, they have the option to select a specific field depending on their interest and skills as stated in the vocational sections. Apart from the usage of various teaching approaches and strategies, teaching-learning is guided by Play-Based, Place-Based and Project-Based approaches.
