Wangsel Institute is the only institution in Bhutan certified and registered under the Department of Workforce Planning and Skill Development, dedicated to providing vocational skills training for individuals who are deaf. Currently, the institute offers training in four distinct vocational trades (wood carving, house painting, wooden furniture making and tailoring). The curriculum is approved by the Technical Training and Research Center (TTTRC) under the Department of Skill Education and Training, which is part of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development. Upon completion of their courses, students must undergo a national assessment conducted by the Bhutan Qualification and Professional Certification Authority (BQPCA), where they are awarded the Bhutan Qualification Framework Certificate II (BQFC 2), further enhancing the quality and recognition of the training.
